A Standout EDC from Blade Show Texas : Kansept Fenrir

At Blade Show Texas this year, I had the chance to meet the amazing team from Kansept Knives. Talking with them about their current and upcoming designs was a highlight of the event. One model in particular really stood out to me—the Fenrir . This knife comes in about 18 different variations, and I’ve been lucky enough to add two of them to my collection. After carrying and using both versions, I can honestly say that the Kansept Fenrir is quickly becoming one of my favorite everyday carry (EDC) knives.

The first version I own is the Kansept Fenrir Flipper Knife with a beadblasted titanium and shred carbon fiber handle and a Damascus blade (Model K1034B1). The second is the Fenrir Flipper/Thumb Hole Knife with a CPM-S35VN blade and the same carbon fiber/titanium handle combo (Model K1034A1). While they look similar, each offers a slightly different experience in hand and in function.

What makes the Kansept Fenrir stand out isn’t just the high-quality materials—it’s the thoughtful design and smooth action that really grab your attention. Designed by Greg Schob of Sparrow Knife Co. , this knife is meant to be both functional and beautiful. Greg is not just a talented knife designer; he also serves in the U.S. Coast Guard and brings that real-world experience into his creations. He started making knives about five years ago and has been gaining a solid following in the EDC community ever since.

Let’s start with the K1034A1, which features a CPM-S35VN blade . This type of steel is known for its excellent edge retention and resistance to corrosion, making it a great choice for daily use. The blade is coated with a black TiCn finish and stonewashed, giving it a tough, rugged look while protecting it from wear. The handle combines titanium and shred carbon fiber, which makes it both lightweight and strong. It feels very solid in hand and has an ergonomic design that fits naturally, even during longer tasks.

One of the coolest features of this version is its dual deployment system —you can open it with either the flipper or the thumb hole. This gives users the option to open the knife the way they like best. The action is smooth, and the knife locks up solidly thanks to its liner lock mechanism. The build quality is impressive, especially for the price. You’d expect to pay at least twice as much for a knife with this level of detail and material quality.

The K1034B1, with its Damascus blade, adds a bit more flair to the mix. The swirled patterns in the steel are not only visually striking but also functional. Damascus steel is known for its ability to hold a sharp edge and resist wear. This model still keeps the sturdy titanium and carbon fiber handle but switches things up with a beadblasted finish , giving it a more subdued, classy appearance.

What I really love about both models is how well they balance function and form. They’re not just good-looking knives for display—they’re built to be used. Whether I’m opening boxes, prepping food while camping, or just fidgeting with them during a meeting, the Fenrir performs every time. The “fidget factor” is high—the action is satisfying, and the feel in the hand makes you want to keep flipping it open and closed.

Despite all these high-end features, the Kansept Fenrir remains surprisingly affordable. That’s something I kept coming back to during my conversation with the Kansept team. They’ve somehow managed to combine premium steel, strong ergonomic design, and top-shelf handle materials while keeping the price point within reach. For collectors and EDC users alike, that’s a big win.

The Fenrir isn’t just another knife on the market—it’s a serious contender for best everyday carry knife in its class. Whether you prefer the functional beauty of CPM-S35VN or the striking looks of Damascus , there’s a Fenrir model for you. After spending time with both, I can say with confidence: this is a knife that belongs in your pocket.

If you get a chance to handle one at a show or order one online, don’t hesitate. You’ll be as impressed as I was—not just with the knife, but with the people behind it.
